Message: 7kernel 2.4.2-2 is very old and has known security issues. Upgrade to 2.4.18-18.7.x. AFAIK it has aic7xxx support built as a module. You can avoid having to build it into the kernel by using an initial ramdisk to load the driver.

We are using the RHL 7.1(kernel 2.4.2-2 source custom built to include aic7xxx SCSI adapter in built support ) with cvs software version
Upgrading may also fix your oops.
