I was unaware that 3 com has anything to do with US Robotics but what
do I know, I assume it is an external modem and is connected to a
serial port. No driver is needed. I am also assuming that when you
boot with the modem attached kudzu is not asking you to configure the
modem? That should not happen if you serial ports are properly set
up. You might try setserial to check that or cat /proc/interrupts.
