Ken, the latest version of OpenSSH is v2.9 (OpenBSD), the ported one of other
OS's like Linux and Solaris is v2.9p2. The version you list as 2.3.0 is
probably v3.0 which was recently released by ssh.com and supports SSH protocol
version 2. V3.0.1 is the latest one that has been released by ssh.com (to my
recollection).

In a recent post I referred to v2.3.0 by way of recommending using a version
AFTER that due to a security vulnerability, which we all recently discussed on
the list. Please find a list archive if you are interested in this.
