Hi all,

Not really sure if this is the right place to post this or not, but recently
our server had a full reinstall of Windows 2000, and before any patches
could be installed, Nimda infected the machine from somewhere. Now my
problem is this. I've wiped the machine, isolated it completely from the
network and closed all ports etc. The only thing I've done to the machine
after this 2nd reinstall, is to download every single patch available.
After doing so, IIS 5, keeps giving the following error, intermittently, on
ASP pages:

"Unspecified error, line x."

Line x is always the line pointing to a DSN. Everything is in place to work
for the page, and indeed, sometimes it does work, but other times it
doesn't. Could this be a knock on effect from Nimda of some kind, that has
slipped through? I've scanned every single machine on the network (all
isolated) using both the NimdaA and NimdaE removal tools, the firewalls are
set to high security, and nothing is being picked up, but I don't know if
any files are damaged still.

It just doesn't make sense to me because again, this is a fresh install, and
this time, there was no trace of Nimda.

Has anyone experienced similar problems?

Cheers,

John.
