Does the Cisco VPN client support IP-Sec yet? I thought the new
version (3.0) only currently worked with VPN concentrators (3000 &
5000) series. I also thought that Cisco's VPN client (1.1 if you can
call that a client) did NOT work with Win2k or XP. I was told you
have to wait until the next IOS release 12.2(7) for these features.
Also if know Cisco's track record with coming out with IOS software
when they are supposed to, you know not hold your breath (the new IOS
was supposed to be released in February but from what I understand
from friends who work for Cisco the IOS will not see daylight till
the summer.)

If anyone on the list knows something I don't know please feel free
to correct me. I would love to use the IPsec client but right now I
am stuck with pptp :(

Cheers,

Leon

Subject: Encrypted Dial-Up with Cisco 2600/3600

We are looking at means to encrypt dial-up connections
from Windows 200 Pro remote users. It appears that I
can purchase a Cisco 2600 or 3600 router with the VPN
module (and undoubtably some management software) in
conjunction with an IPSEC policy on the remote users'
machines. Am I missing anything here?

David
