Hi Sean,
We have tested the Arkeia client under windows 2000 in combo with a sun
machine as the backup server. The client was in the DMZ, the backup
server in a separate LAN.
The nice thing about Arkeia is that it only needs one port through the
firewall in order to operate.
The only drawback we found was the fact that the Win2k client needs to
contact the backup server directly during installation, thus the need
for a (temporary) hole from the DMZ to the backup server. After that
there was no need to keep the hole.
The firewall we used was CheckPoint FW-1 4.1.3, but any firewall ought
to be able to do the trick.
Instead of the Sun, you could also use a Linux machine, there are server
programs for that, too.
For more info, check out http://www.arkeia.com/.
Good luck!
Gr,
Xander
