If you really know what you're doing you could convert your script ahead of time, build your kernel for IPTables support, cross your fingers and reboot. If not, get a spare box and test your new script. Follow my first statement ignoring the crossing of the fingers. :)
I'm sure that there are a few IPChains -> IPTables conversion scripts that can be found at freshmeat.net, but I have not tried any and can't give you any direction in that manner. I wouldn't fully trust the conversion either. IPChains does not do port forwarding.
