I have heard this also.

Speaking from experience:1) support was nonexistent 2) marketing was
nonexistent 3) NAI was relying on 3d parties to move the hardware 4) the
E500 changed O/Ses at least 2 times (I believe maybe three). 5) Not sure
that security folks will be happy not having access to the core of the
system (read no root access). I am not surprised they floundered.

Having said that; the boxes were well made, did a good job (except for
the mail issues with the E500), and they will make decent servers for
someone's home when they are taken out of service some day.
