I do not even think Micro$oft knows every step or processes executed during a startup / login.

I am familiar with the "basic" boot steps but would like to know the following in as much detail as is possible... or know (a flowchart would be ideal): When I cold boot a machine, what are all the possible steps leading up to a login screen being displayed. What registry settings are executed (run, runonce...), autoexec,... anything. I am looking for the same as a User logs in, everything and anything... if something is getting loaded or changed, I want to be able to track down the setting responsible for it. Can anyone point me in the direction of a good source (or sources) for this kind of information? In anticipation of the question... yes, I have a very good idea of what I'm getting myself into... Thanks in advance! Mr J Funk _________________________________________________________________ Send and receive Hotmail on your mobile device: http://mobile.msn.com
