Could be really hundred of reasons.... My best bet is that Internet Explorer cleared some of it temporary files.... If you browse the web actively you can easily have thousands of temp files.... IE cleans them up once in a while...

The only thing is that I have not added nor taken away a lot of files, just a few new jpgs for my website for the new stuff we have on - about 30 new files. Can anyone suggest anythign?
