I think there are two main issues with Internet Banking Security Firstly Information security. Speaking as an investigative researcher Internet banking is far more secure. It normally means that the account is subject to strong password security rather than just being protected by a clerk asking for some combination of SSN, Date of Birth, and mothers maiden name. It is far more difficult to get account info when an account actually protected by an unseen password.
As to financial security. If you pay by credit card in any restaurant or shop in the world you are providing some of your financial information to lowly paid employees. The world is not secure but Internet banks are probably among the most secure financial institutions you deal with. -----Original Message----- From: Adam Shephard [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 10 April 2002 18:37 To: 'Jasmine Sim'; [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: RE: Security Issues on Internet Banking -----Original Message----- From: Jasmine Sim [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: Wednesday, April 10, 2002 1:23 AM To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Subject: Security Issues on Internet Banking Hi! I wish to get some views and expertise on the security issues of using Internet Banking. <snip> The ruling body on this is the OCC. Check them out at http://www.occ.treas.gov/index.htm. There's a lot to read there but this is a very complex issue.
