Hotmail & Yahoo Mail Issue

Hello,
Please excuse me for posting this silly question.
Normally I used to send attachments through hotmail 
and yahoo mail
My question is, by what mode they are transferring 
the data, and through 
what port? This will help me to filter or block that 
particular port, 
to avoid data unauthorised data transfer.
