PGP freeware is I guess pretty alright for win* users , unless you're a C.L.I fan too. 
GnuPGP and PGP both are pretty alright.

although why are you using XP anyway ? =)

You could use GnuPG www.gnupg.org/, the mailserver GEAM found there also
