Indio, There are more conclusive methods for finding out what is listening on the port, other than port scans and telnetting to the port. Here's a list of programs that can be used on the host, depending upon the architecture: Linux/*nix: fuser, lsof, sockstat NT/2K: fport from FoundStone XP: netstat -ano (note the '-o' switch) Win9x/ME: TDIMon from SysInternals These tools will do a process-to-port mapping...which is what you want. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!?
