Working for an ISP myself, I don't know if this may be related or not, but
I've seen where we've changed passwords for people, only to find out that
both the old password and the new password both let them log in. This was
before we instituted our own webmail feature, so I don't know if the problem
has persisted. It only happened with a few of the ISP's our main office has
bought out. Don't know if this helps any, but we knew that the servers were
misconfig'd, which was causing this particular problem.

Subject: isp password question

Dear All

Just a quick question re ISP passwords. I use three different ISPs,
depending upon time of day re connection, slowness etc.

With one of my ISPs when I change the password I have discovered that since
October/November last year (this has not happened before this) that it seems
to reset back to an old password every time. But what I find strange is if
I ever decide to connect to the webmail when I am out and about that the new
password works. I have complained to my ISP who have said that this is
virtually impossible as there is only password for connection and/or when
using it as webmail when travelling and they have said that my pc at home
has been compromised. This I do not know but has anyone else had any
problems like this before? I have used all the trojan scanners to double
check, port opens etc... Is this a problem with me or with the ISP? Any
ideas?

I am sending this through my outlook as my Eudora crashed yesterday with
some kind of bug... So hope this gets through.

Thanks in advance.

Thaque
