You might want to check out Microsoft's TechNet-Security section. There's a
Tools & Checklist area there. In there, there is a document called "Windows
2000 Server Baseline Security Checklist":
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/security/tools/chklist/w2ksvrcl.asp
You might want to go through the new Security site and even TechNet site. A
lot of really good basic information there. The search engine is pretty
good, too.

Subject: w2000 Checklist
Hi
Can anyone point me at a good W2000 baseline checklist please?
We have a number of W2000 servers, and are slowly moving all
our existing NT4 and Novell Servers to W2000. What I am
looking for is a comprehensive checklist, that covers
standalone W2000 systems. The list, or maybe even an
application does need to be fairly generic, as these servers
will be performing different functionalities, i.e Some Web,
Some Mail, Some SQL, Some File and Print, etc.
Any help or pointers very much appreciated.
Thanks
JM
