if your machine support it and you have the money, I HIGHLY recommend OS X.
imho, it's the greatest operating system for mass desktop use ever created.
built in firewall, windows networking, unix tools and reliability, with a
really slick and user-friendly interface.  

with that said, i don't have $1700 for a low-end macintosh tower without
monitor (g4), so i will have to stick to my numerous PCs.  :(  one day...one
day.
