I used to work in a british Secondary school (AKA High School in the US) With the volume of computers that we used, and the technical ability of some of our students we found the best measure was to invoke policy and registry settings based upon groups set up.
These worked well in most cases after a bit of R&D The key provided by Tim V - DZ is prob the one you are after, but you will need to put it into a hive file for implementation by Policy Editor. Januar 2003 17:15 An: Security-Basics Betreff: NT4 Network Neighborhood Is there a registery hack to remove the Network Neighborhood from an NT4 Workstation Desktop. I'm trying to stop some high school kids playing around on the network and this would hopefully stop a couple of them in their tracks. Thanks Simon Quote of the day: Systems Administration is the kind of job that nobody notices if you're doing it well. People only take notice of their systems when they're not working. --- This email has been scanned by AVG Anti-Virus Checked by AVG anti-virus system (http://www.grisoft.com).
