Stephen, I can't give you the specifics, but I'd imagine this falls under HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountablity Act). There's a whole new set of rules now when it comes to medical data and I'm sure the destroying of that data falls under HIPAA. I don't know many HIPAA experts and the information is kind of vague but try to find information on HIPAA and that should be a good starting point for you.
