Hi,

just got off the phone with "GoToMy PC" regarding this incident. Lady who
lead the investigation in conjunction with the Secret Service gave me a very
clear and concise explanation of the events which took place last Dec.

It related to a gang of people who were putting keystroke loggers on
publicly accessed computers in Kinko's, etc. Someone accessed their gotomypc
account from kinko's and "viola", gave instant access to the crooks who were
looking for banking information specifically. Fortunately, the person who
compromised his own account was at his computer when the thieves accessed
his desktop. It was his call to gotomypc that lead to the investigation, the
IP trace and the arrest and conviction.

Morale to the story: Don't access anything vital from a public
terminal...and if you are forced by circumstances to do this, change your
passwords as fast as you possible can cuz it's a race from then on.

*********

The list is a great source of info for me, but I find the thread about "10
least secure programs" to be, with a few exceptions, little more than
egotistical chest-thumping...DUMP IT.
