Applications using OpenSSL may core dump. The kernel my crash in the aes,blowfish,arcfour providers or in the kcf framework. I and others have several times. It is also documented http://opensolaris.org/os/project/crypto/Documentation/sunwcry/ (though under Solaris Updates rather than Nevada).
