Thanks for your time. After taking a deep breath last night the solution hit 
me. And here is what I learned, I finally realized that the each section in the 
 "Installation and Configuration Guide" for setting up zones go hand in hand 
with each other. To complete the per nic scenario you must combine all the 
instructions from the previous sections to correctly setup the zones. Also, the 
DOI is very important when trying to talk to unlabeled hosts they must match 
the Domain that you want to Interpret your traffic.
