Hello all,

I'm having a weird problem. Whenever I want to upload a larger file from the lan to the firewall or from the lan to the dmz machine (only 1 box in the dmz) the connection in my ftp or scp status bar starts at something more or less the same speed as my adsl uplink and then gets slower and slower until I interrupt it because it has become a 300 bytes/sec crawl. It should just be at 10baseT speed (10 mbps half duplex).

I have hubs on both networks. I temporarily added a rule to the iptables config at the beginning of all rules that just allows everything from lanhost_ip to dmzhost_ip, but the problem remains, so it is not the rules.

It has always been like that, but never got in my way, until I got a machine in the dmz.

Anybody have any idea as to what the problem may be? Any input greatly appreciated.

Ian.
