The answer is no and yes. ;)
I've added the line "MII_NOT_SUPPORTED=yes" in ifcfg-eth0. It work because after adding this line, the network script (/etc/rc.d/init.d/network) won't run "ifplugd" as the startup of network interface. But the file is created by script which means no good to just change it. So I try to find out the root of the problem.
I found out the new mnf2 (mandrake 10 probably) is now using ifplugd to startup network interface and monitoring its activities. And I found that the version on mnf2 iso is not good in detecting 3Com (3C905) NIC. Thus I go to the cooker to download the latest version available for mandrake and upgraded the version. Everything work fine without any scripts modification. I can confirm that as I do the upgrade right after another clean installation.
Hence the problem is not the scripts but on the version of ifplugd.
