The VP, IT Security, Americas is responsible for the IT security process within the Americas Region. The role will provide leadership and technical guidance to assist the creation and maintenance of security within products and infrastructure. The role is strategically important in helping to move the Americas confidently forward in open networking and e-business markets. Additionally the role will represent the Americas in company-wide IT security initiatives.
The role reports directly to the VP Technical Operations, with a functional reporting line to the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO).


Job Description:
Role and Responsibility:
Ensure information security is addressed as a business issue across the Americas. Set strategic direction and advise systems development, marketing and customer support groups in the secure design, implementation and management of the Americas’ products and infrastructure.
Ensure information security risks in the Americas activities are identified and analysed through application of the Company’s risk assessment methodology. Liase with other groups such as Internal Audit, Legal and Operations on issues concerning information security. Support the business groups in providing security audits of 3rd party data providers and contractors.


Support Area marketing and sales on customer security issues. Provide customer assurance and guidance on the security aspects of the company’s products and delivery infrastructure.
Support the business groups in providing security audits of potential acquisition targets and business partners.


Manage the local incident response capability and the investigation of security incidents.
Raise the awareness of IT security with staff at all levels in the Area through contributions to security training and awareness programmes.


Required Skills and Education:

The candidate must have at least four years in full-time security management roles directing a team of 10 or more IT security staff, with proven track record for building a customer focused team. The candidate must be familiar with the principles and techniques of security risk analysis, and demonstrate an understanding of the management issues involved in implementing security processes and a security-aware culture in a large corporate environment. Excellent communication skills and influencing skills are essential.

The candidate must have a confident, pro-active attitude, and be comfortable with managing a geographically diverse team, dealing with split reporting lines (central vs local), and personally championing the security function throughout the Area.

Successful candidates will have an understanding of security policies, legal and regulatory issues in IT security, security awareness campaigns, incident response and investigation, TCP/IP network security, Unix and Microsoft operating system security, web server security, encryption, digital signatures and public key infrastructures, firewalls, intrusion detection, viruses and other forms of malicious code.
