Category: Documentation Group: Sedna (current) Status: Open >Resolution: Accepted >Priority: 3 Private: No Submitted By: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) >Assigned to: Ivan Shcheklein (shcheklein) Summary: Changes to quickstart guide Initial Comment: In se_cdb there is a line saying: Creating a data base (it can take a few minutes)... Suggest to replace with: Creating a database (this can take a few minutes)... When invoking se_sm, the message says among other things: SM has been started in the background mode Can you spell out the acronym SM? It is unclear to the user what SM means Also, if I say top | grep SM, then nothing shows, so what is the process that has exactly started? Can this also be added to the output of the se_sm command? The quickstart guide reads for the se_term command: If the document is loaded successfully it prints ”UPDATE is executed successfully”. However, the message says: Bulk load succeeded Please update the start guide. Will the start guide also become available online in html format? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Ivan Shcheklein (shcheklein) Date: 2010-08-02 00:34 Message: Thank you for suggestions: 1. Creating a database (this can take a few minutes)... - will be fixed. 2. SM means se_sm, means Storage Manager - it's quite clear from what does SM mean if you know what se_sm is. I believe, that it's also clear for any user that you should run top | grep se_sm if you start se_sm process. BTW, it's better to run se_rc utility to check if there are SMs started. 3. UPDATE is executed -> Bulk load succ.. - will be fixed. 4. Start Guide is availbale online: http://modis.ispras.ru/sedna/quick-start.html ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=713730&aid=3037434&group_id=129076 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The Palm PDK Hot Apps Program offers developers who use the Plug-In Development Kit to bring their C/C++ apps to Palm for a share of $1 Million in cash or HP Products.
