Seems to me there is issue with new Axis (open/close/reopen). Reproduced on
simplified version:
for $i in (1,2,3)
let $data-cells :=
(<g/>,
<g>
<item>{ 11 }</item>
</g>)
return ($data-cells/item, $data-cells/item)
Works perfectly on 3.4.66.
