Have you tried to run php and phpinfo from command line (not within apache)?
We provide binaries for official PHP 5.3 wich is built with VS 9 (both
thread safe and not). I don't know if PHP in XAMPP compatible with official
PHP. Is there any instruction on how to add new extensions in XAMPP?
