Hello fellow gardeners,

I'd like to introduce my self - I'm Imogen Pettitt, I set up a
community seed swap group in Machynlleth, Wales, UK called 'Dyfi
Valley Seed Savers'.

We are only a year old but we exist to encourage new gardeners and to
teach all gardeners how to save their own seed. We encourage all types
of gardening but our educational efforts a based on vegetables and
fruit trees.

Our events, for example a seed swap, a plant swap, research visits to
seed companies, training visits to local market gardens, seed saving
workshops - a lot for just one year! And we have more up our sleeves!
All our events are run on a donation basis as we don't want to exclude
anyone from our events due to their financial circumstances.

Our next event, and our first birthday, is 'Seedy Sunday', a community
seed swap, the idea originally came from North America I think, and
now I'm asking for your support. Unfortunately because we're so young
and because seed-saving is such a rare skill these days we don't have
many seeds to swap at our events yet.

If you have any seeds which you would concider sending us we would
happily pay postage though we're not in a possition to swap ourselves.

Please take a look at our website (unfinished I'm afraid!) or our
yahoogroup, the details are at the bottom of the page, let us know
what you think.

Looking forward to hearing from you,

Imogen Pettitt
