mmmm.... I have called the phone company before and placed my OWN phone line on a budget plan that costs .15 cents per call, and records the numbers going out only. It's not really THAT much more expensive, but may be by $5 or so. You can cancel that plan at any time usually. Caller ID will record all calls coming in if the callers don't use the CALLER ID DEFEAT CODE- *67 - prior to any calling they do.
