Interesting question?
As a Paramedic and HIV/AIDs instructor the answer is " OH boy there's that
question again!" That is to say in the state I'm certified in (right now),
No! >>>For now! However I don't see a company or a paramedic board allowing
patients to be placed in danger. The Body Surface Isolation equipment
(Gloves, masks, etc...) are not only for the paramedic or caregivers
protection. It's also for the patients protection.
P.S. You would not believe the number of times that question has come up in
class!
