That certainly sounds like some interesting and promising research
diamond-laser carbon-nitrogen magnetometers,  getting future field units
down to the size of a hockey puck piqued the interest here being half
Gagnon and hailing from frozen pond territory,

It's guessed the traditional scalar magnetometer manufacturers can already
claim the quantum magnetometer label using particle spins, precession and
fluid sensors or alkali vapors and optical pumping ones,

Saw the below on natural navigation systems in Wired a few years back,
