Dear colleagues,
We have had five very successful EMinars since the series launched a
month ago - they have all been very well attended with from over 50 to
over 200 attendees. If you missed any of them you can watch the video
linked on the MTNet EMinar page: http://www.mtnet.info/EMinars/EMinars.html
For December we have three EMinars scheduled, and one very special event
co-sponsored by the British Columbia Geophysical Society.
* On Wednesday 2nd December @ 14:00 UT Xavier Garcia gives us an
Educational webinar on "Fundamentals of time series analysis for
transfer function estimation".
o Xavi has been advancing time series processing for over 20 years.
* On Wednesday 9th December @ 15:00 UT Ken Witherly gives us an
Educational/Research/Career webinar on "What Lies Beneath? A
Reflection on the Porphyry Copper Exploration Model".
o Ken needs no introduction to the SEGMIN audience.
* The following day, or day after if you live in Asia/Australasia, @
00:30 UT on Friday 11th December there will be a discussion
organized by the British Columbia Geophysical Society, co-sponsored
by MTNet, on "Time-Domain Electromagnetics for High-Conductivity
Mineral Exploration: On-Time Step Response and Low-Frequency,
B-Field, Late Off-Time."
o Four of the leading people in TDEM will give their views and
experiences, namely Daryl Ball, Andrew Duncan, Jim Macnae, and
Ben Polzer. I am looking at his virtual discussion as a useful
way to explore issues in EM and MT - so more may be on the way!
* Finally, on Wednesday 16th December @ 13:00 UT Hao Dong will give us
"Overview of SINOPROBE MT", which is the first of three EMinars
devoted to national-scale MT programmes. Kate Robertson/Stephan
Thiel will present AusLAMP on 20th or 21st January, depending where
you live, and Paul Bedrosian will present USArray on 17th February.
Please keep watching the EMinar web page for updates. I will only send
out SEGMIN messages at the beginning of each month rather than weekly.
Very best wishes all, Stay Safe!
Alan
