The SEISA Annual Meeting was held this morning on the University of Texas
campus. Here are the highlights, if you would like minutes or greater detail
of the discussions I will be happy to fill you in.

Officer Attendance and Reports
a. President (Paul Kleinschrodt, USA), Present, reported on ICSA winter
meeting minutes
b. Vice President (Chris Burd, Tulane), Present, nothing to report
c. Graduate Director/Scheduling (Blake Billman, Texas), Present, discussed
09-12 rules changes, ream development, semi's
d. Treasurer (Alli Jones, Kansas), Present, good financial report, only 1
team delinquent in dues payment and they are working on it, ~ $1300 in the
bank
e. Women's (Rachel Ellis, SMU), Present, womens participation is up to 6
teams from 4 last year, big push for womens champs. 2 womens teams in the
top 5 this weekend at Q1 (15 teams total).
f. Communications/Internet (Derek Whallen, Texas A&M), Present, website
updates/improvements continue
g. Membership (Karl Kleinschrodt, USA), could not attend, membership is up
slightly, with several new prospects
h. Competition (Jake Scott, Texas A&M), could not attend, no report given
i. Development (Peter Johnson, Tulane), did not attend, no report given
TEAM REPORTS
1.        Auburn (Regular), could not attend, active and with a good team
this semester, very little budget to work with
2.        Baylor (Regular), present, little to report
3.        Colorado (NA), could not attend, elected to associate membership
4.        Kansas (Regular), present, good team this semester, still frozen
in
5.        Loyola (Associate+), present, elected to provisional membership
6.        LSU (Provisional), not present, no report given
7.        Ok State (Regular), present, big recruiting class
8.        Rice (Regular), present, big turnout for Q1 (14 sailors I think
!?!), still recovering from Ike, looking for more 420's
9.        SMU (Regular), present, working on a womens program and new boats
10.     A&M CC (Provisional+), did not attend, having recruitment and coach
issues, elected to regular membership
11.     A&M (Regular), present, not much to report
12.     A&M G (Regular), present, still recovering from Ike, 12 new boats
but no dock, no regattas until new dock is approved
13.     Tulane (Regular), present, doing well
14.     UNO (Regular), present, mixed bag, won Q1!, but has budget and
recruitment issues, many seniors
15.     UNT (Regular), did not attend, attending A&M in 2 weeks, good to see
they are active
16.     OU (Regular), present, huge recruitment class, but still needs boats
17.     USA (Regular), present, young team
18.     UT (Regular), present, doing well, got a budget increase and new
sails
19.     UWF (Regular), could not attend, doing well

OLD BUSINESS
a. Lack of action on All SEISA Team (Blake, Karl, Jake). Admitted to failing
on creating an all SEISA team, will track finishes for this semester so the
awards can be given after dinghies.

NEW BUSINESS
a. Discussion of new Nationals format (Women's and Semi's)
b. New rules for 2009-2012
c. Review Spring 2008 Schedule and vote on Championships. There are 2
versions of the schedule out there, we will clarify things this week.
                i. Women's: SMU will host Women's champs
                ii. TR: Tulane will host TR Champs
                iii. Dinghies: Texas will host SEISA champs
                iv. Singles: CCYC/A&MCC
                v. Sloops: Somewhere in SEISA East, Southern or USA
d. Preview Fall 2008 Schedule
                i. discussion of schedule format, perhaps going to fewer,
but bigger events, entertainment of new ideas/regattas. No consensus on the
new schedule format. A laser division will be added to Barnyard @ A&M.
                ii. Creation of an Intersectional withdrawal penalty for
SEISA. No consensus, but we may revisit this next year if it continues to be
a problem.
e. Final planning for ICSA Singles in fall 2009 @ CCYC / TAMUCC. All is
going well.
f. Appointments to ICSA Standing Committees (must be Graduate level):
