Regatta Highlights
Racing started at 10:15 AM on Lake Travis with Moderate to fresh
breeze from the south all day. Delays were caused during rotations
when crews were unable to right capsized boats. 2 Breakdowns were
filed, both were awarded. A DNS was given to any boat that was unable
to start the race. 7 Races in each fleet were completed by 5:00 PM.
There were no protests filed. Congratulations to UNO for winning the
regatta.
Thanks to our PRO Steve Gay, and RC Michael Grossman, UT for running
races; and to Markset/Crash Chase Dearing, UT, and Kyle Wilson, SMU
for helping capsized boats. Thanks to Colleen and Ed Taylor for
ferrying sailors to and from capsized boats to expedite rotations.
Also a huge thanks to Blake Billman, Paul Kleinschrodt, and Derek
Whallen for running the Clinic.
