SEISA, I would like to thank everyone who helped raise money for the Hub Isaacks Memorial Junior Sailor Fund, hosted by Fort Worth Boat Club. Texas, Texas A&M, and Texas A&M at Galveston sailing teams all put their time and effort into supporting the live/silent auction that was held on August 28th, 2010. Contributed to this auction were a number of items such as shirts, polos, fleeces, a Mack Brown autographed football and a number of private coaching opportunities.
Also included were 3 "destination sailing experiences" in which junior sailors will travel to Austin, College Station & Galveston to experience what collegiate sailing is all about. The Fort Worth Boat Club recognizes this as a rare opportunity for youth sailors in Texas to continue their passion for the sport of sailing. This was made possible by Cait Taylor, Bob Long and Ben Robbins of UT, TAMU & TAMUG. Please raise a glass next time you see them, they deserve it! I would also like to thank Nataleigh Vann, Nick Perez, Colin Feik, and Christine Barbour for their time in making this a successful event. Money raised: Texas A&M: $125.00 Texas: $510.00 Texas A&M at Galveston: $1135.00 I am happy to announce that 3 SEISA teams managed to raise $1770.00 to help fund junior sailors in the state of Texas. The overall total of funds raised through the FWBC Hub Isaacks Fundraiser was over $40,000. Money is still coming in as FWBC junior sailors prepare for their Sail-a-thon!
