I just want to automate our tests for webchat server. This webchat server is browser based. I want to automate it as a user--from user point of view on how to use the webchat. I need to test the functionality of the webchat server. I guess I need to test both HTML responds and functionality of the webchat server on the browser. What do you think?

It depends what you are testing. If you are testing the HTML a server responds with, then it can black box, if you are testing the functionality of some javascript ina browser then it can be white box.

what are you doing?

Nate

I don't think HttpUnit is a blackbox testing tool. What about selenium? Is it really working in browser or simulate browser like HttpUnit does? Thanks.
