Hello,

I'm currently looking at splitting the policycoreutils packages in several sub-packages (following what fedora is doing). The advantage would be that the main package will not depends against python anymore. And by default it would be possible for people to not have long running daemon (mcstrans,...)

The split would be something like:

 - policycoretuils: Main C executables
 - policycoreutils-python-utils: semanage, audit2*, chcat
 - policycoreutils-dev: sepolicy, semodule_*
- policycore-gui: system-config-selinux, selinux-polgengui (we'll have to check if everything is working on debian)
 - mcstrans
 - restorecond
 - ...

What are people thinking about this?

Cheers,

Laurent Bigonville
