Yes, all you need to do is to update your template and have it still define
Semantic MediaWiki properties, but not display them.
One useful trick here is to have empty alternate text in the link like this
[[Some property::some value| ]]
Notice space after the pipe (without a space MediaWiki wiki will use "pipe
trick" that automatically inserts text there and is not what you want - to
hide the text).
