Hi, I've found a new Project based on Mediawiki that tries to extract semantic information from Infoboxes. More Information can get found here: http://ontoworld.org/wiki/Dbpedia While this project is very new (registered on sf.net on 2007-03-08) it looks already very advanced. I think we should contact them and try to bundle developer resources. Because the approach seems to be compatible in syntax, both solutions might be coexistent in the same wiki, even the database is different (code will probably patch that).
I further suggest to take a look at pOWL to: http://sourceforge.net/projects/powl/ It might be a good idea to let users define, browse and check ontologies on the fly without touching the articles by a web interface. Unfortunately I haven't checked the new database of Semediawiki, but I think that there will be the need for a tablerow which defines where a entry has its origin (ie. external ontology, article (with name), etc.). This will make it also possible to check for entries generated by automatic inference from existing knowledge. This is because if a article gets changed then the information from the old version of the article and the information extracted by inference out of the old article needs to be deleted. ys, MovGP0 ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Take Surveys.
