Hi,

Estonian Department of State Information Systems is looking for a tool where
the developers of state registries (e.g. information systems like Land
Cadastre, Population Register etc) can collaboratively create and manage a
vocabulary (lightweight ontology incl subclassing, owl domain-range). The
vocabulary will be used to add semantic annotations into WSDL – using W3C’s
recommendation SA-WSDL. More information about semantic interoperability
architecture and requirements @
http://www.riso.ee/en/files/EstonianGov_Semantic_Description-Instructions_v1.1c.pdf

<http://www.riso.ee/en/files/EstonianGov_Semantic_Description-Instructions_v1.1c.pdf>
 .

I hope to get answers from the SMW development community:

1. is SMW reasonable for such purpose? Can one use SMW’s categories and other
constructs to “simulate” rdfs/owl’s classes, domains-ranges, subclasses?

2. does SMW provide URL’s for wiki’s categories which can be dereferenced
according to (i) SA-WSDL and (ii) Best Practice Recipes for Publishing RDF
Vocabularies – Recipe #5 (http://www.w3.org/TR/swbp-vocab-pub/#recipe5)? For
example URL http://www.gov.ee/ontologies/landsurvey/cadastral_unit links to
category “Cadastral unit”. Depending on HTTP GET accept parameter – whether it
is application/rdf+xml or text /html – the answer should be HTML or RDF.

If some features – to fulfill the abovementioned requirements – are missing
from current version of SMW, we are able to support the development of SMW (eg
programming).

Thanks,

Martin
