Well the provider told me that she would run the script if everything
is prepared. Now my problem is that I don't know how to create this
symbolic link (which seems to be necessary in order to run the script).
Any suggestions?

Hmm. Not having shell access in this case might be a trouble - this
script takes quite a lot of time to run.

I upgraded our Semantic MediaWiki from version 1.0-RC3 to version
1.0.1. After installing the software (which worked all well) I wanted
to run the maintenance script SMW_refreshData.php. Unfortunately I
don't have shell access to our server. Therefore I would like to
prepare everything so that my provider can run the script for me. In
the instructions (README) to the script it says that I should make a
symbolic link. Is that really necessary or can I just copy the
SMW_refreshData.php into the "maintenance" folder of our wiki and run
it from there? I case it is necessary to make this symbolic link,
how do
I do that? Do I just copy that

into a text file? And how do I have to name that file then? (Sorry,
for asking
such basics.)
My best,
