Hi all,

we are happy to announce the release of Semantic MediaWiki 1.4.2, together
with a fitting Semantic Result Formats 1.4.2. The new version includes a
number of changes such as some significant performance improvements, initial
PostgreSQL support, and a new JSON data export. Also, the query formats vCard
and iCalendar have been moved to Semantic Result Formats 1.4.2, so it is wise
to update both extensions at the same time. Besides this minor detail, upgrade
is very easy, see [1]. For more information on SMW 1.4.2 changes see [2].

As usual, an SVN release tag was created at [3]. Following our somewhat
confusing versioning scheme, the current SVN development code is now labelled
"1.5e-SVN" which is essentially the same as 1.4.2, though this will change
with future commits.

Big thanks to all contributors who have specifically helped to improve this
release, especially to Jie Bao, Marcel Gsteiger (PostgreSQL), Fabian Howahl
(JSON, Exhibit), Dmitri Khoroshev (Russian date debugging), and Joel Natividad
(Ploticus format in SRF). More people could be named, I stop here since this
is only a minor release ;-) See [4] for a more complete list.

Thanks also to all users who have provided detailed problem descriptions and
bug reports. If yours was not addressed yet, make sure that it is listed on
Bugzilla for us to see.

Cheers,

Markus
