Sounds to me like you got water into something electrical. Peobably ignition related. Getting a new cap and rotor probably wasn't really needed if it was the problem. I'd unplug all the sparkplug wires and look for water in there. Since you already know the 4th cylinder is missing. I'd look at that first... See if you got water in the sparkplug wells.
