to do this, try taking the panels of.  At the top of the door, where the 
"tabs" of metal that help hold the panel on(where the window slides past the 
molding piece that catches it and slows it down in the first place), If you 
bend it slightly out all the way across the top of the door panel, it makes 
it a hell of a lot easier.  I did this when putting my interior panels back 
on, cause I was having problems getting the panel over the top "ridge", sO I 
bent it out a little.  I didn't even expect it to, but it did help with 
rolling the windows up and down.
