Note: this pertains to a 1997 ford escort, but I recall there were smart people on this list, so I figured I'd ask here. Looking at a used car for sale. (97 Escort, 41k miles, $5000) . Seller says Check engine light has been on for years. So Before putting it for sale, seller says he had the dealer diagnose and turn the light off. (Found no problem) But it lit up again shortly afterwards. Is this a crucial problem? Will this thing not pass inspection like that? Otherwise, it seems like a decent price for a low mileage car Please cc: to [EMAIL PROTECTED] since Im not subscribed to this thread anymore.
