It all depends on what Maaco you take it to.  My mechanic recommended a 
Maaco for me to take my car too.  Then I went to my Dads guy that does all 
his body work, and he actually recommended the same Macco ( I was 
surprised).  But he said that was the only good Maaco in town and that he 
actyally sends his cars that he's working on for them to paint cheaper.  Ask 
around in your town and see what kind of luck others have had.  And yes you 
do get what you pay for, if you plan on keeping the car for a couple more 
years, then spring the extra 100 dollars for the better paint job, you be 
glad you did (and sometimes they even have a warranty - like 2 years or 
something).
