this is in reference to sport compact car magazine's june '01 issue.
In it there's a red gti vr6 owned by dean alhassen.
just wanted to know, has anyone ever tried stripping the floor carpet and
putting in metal/diamond plate inserts? in the article (which starts on p.
192), looks like the guy did some metal work with some buddies. and the
result is the sweet pic on page 198.
then i wouldn't need to worry about staining the carpet, and the racing
feeling of driving would be more fun! i got some obx pedals but don't want
to put in the dead pedal yet if i can get this metal work done.
