Yeah, that's true.  Ask almost any officer what they want to hear when they 
pull you over and they will tell you they want to hear that they caught you.  
They don't want an excuse, they want you to admit you were wrong(if you 
really were of course)  I've been pulled over for drag racing, wreckless 
driving, speeding, running stop signs, clear taillights, cruising, loitering, 
just for looking suspicious, having a cover over my liscense plate, tags 
expired(twice), and more, but have admitted when I was wrong, and have a 
perfectly clean record still(knock on wood)  Just admit to being wrong, they 
love to hear that.
