I recently bought a -92 nx100, 1.6 liter. Its an European version, so it could be somewhat different from the US one. Anyway, my question is basically this: The engine compartment looks like it has never been cleaned. I am not joking, everything looked brownish grey. I tried to use a grease dissolvent, but the (aluminum?) top, the alternator and other stuff still looks terrible. I was wondering if any of you had an idea for a product to clean the engine. The dirt seems to have bonded (!.. not literary) with the metal, and is very hard to get out. I live in Norway, so please don't mention particular brands. We probably don't have them here, or they have different names. If you can give me the active ingredient or method to use, that would be great.
